UEFA Champion's League 2013/14

The beautiful game!

Young made a meal of it, but it should have been a penalty. You cannot deliberately pull at a players arm in the penalty box, and expect nothing, if the ref sees it, which I presume he did.

Not excusing it but it was always the Man Utd way not to criticise a particular player in public. That's why I was surprised when Moyes mentioned it before.

Moyes will have given him an earful after the game I would guess.

A tale of two halves...United were awful in the first, but much better in the second.

I think its generous to even say Man United were that much better in the second half. I thought Shakhtar gave it a good go, and had they scored in the first 35 minutes Man U were in trouble.

Ryan Giggs is a legend but looked all the 40 years yesterday. He cant track back anymore, his passing is going off... its just every ten games he does something and everyone waxes lyrical on how great he still is... honestly think he would struggle to standout at Crystal Palace, he just isnt that good. Rio Ferdinand also looked pony last night, and as my aforementioned reference to Ashley Young, the quicker he goes back to Watford the better the premier league will become

Pellegrini is a pillock! How on earth did he not realise they only needed to win by 2 goals and not 3 to go through!

From memory 16 or 17 and they would probably get 5 or 6?

Yeah, not great, basically a write off for them.

But then Nani, Valencia, Cleverly, Wellbeck, Evra ect would not generate much money either.

Arsenal are through but will play one of Barca, Real, Bayern, Atletico or PSG in the next round. Can't see them winning against any of those, PSG is probably their best chance.

This is the Arsenal team top of the league. The team that beat Bayern last year? Not great that they did not finish top but lets not rule them out just yet.

They paid 15 million too much for him, and someone like QPR would be happy to bankrupt themselves just to get a name over quality. Never rated him at Villa, he is a highlights reel player that English football fans tend to love simply because they remember the 25 yard free kicks over the 10% pass completion ratios.

Just a remarkably bad purchase for United.

Thought Arsenal were sucker punched last night by the poorness of officiating. The Napoli number 35 spent the whole game fouling Arsenal's midfield, often when they were countering at pace, and had by the end 7 yellow cards to my money.... Arteta caused two very innocous challenges and was sent off for nothing!!!

I was happy at the end when Dortmund tucked away the penalty to knock them out. Napoli did not impress, all they did was hack and dive.
