India TV has started cribbing about Sachin just now. Some fans will watch those channels and demand Sachin's resignation just like they did when India toured Australia.

Manjrekar wants Tendulkar to play at least until November next year, if he's struggling with the Kiwi attack at home it's hard to see how he's going to survive against Steyn, Morkle and Vernon away.

I can see SRT playing until he decides hes had enough, and it will be unexpected when it happens.

He didn't score too many runs against NZ in 2010 either. And scored 2 tons in SA. Cape Town was one of his best.

2010 was an odd series for him, I remember him getting out twice trying to charge Patel and Vettori, though he still made more runs and looked more convincing as a batsman than he did in this series where he looked decidedly less than Tendulkarish.

Are India hoping that Sachin will still be around for his experience for the SA series? Or are they trying to give the Indian team a gradual transition from the old to the new and we might see Sachin retire sometime over the next 2 series?

I am not sure how a 41 year old Sachin will go in SA with the attack SA have at present.

A very good question. Though in theory they still have alot of experiance in the team, even if all are not performing.

I expect Sachin will retire IN India, with plenty of notice so ticket prices can go through the roof for his last ever test.

Could be tricky unless he retires after the England series.

I havent looked into the fixtures, but from a commercial stand point, it would make sense.
