I guess this is a result of what I was trying to demonstrate above. Once you breed an atmosphere in any environment, whether football, work, family environments... that condones racist views or behaviours in any guise, you allow things like this to happen.

Dalglish is not a racist. In my view his actions in the Suarez affair are based on an old fashioned loyalty and seige mentality that has simply crumbled in the wake of new school media scrutiny...nowadays you have to be able to play the media spin game to deflect criticism.

But in not criticising his player or his fans for their actions you see what happens.... now there has been 4 or 5 different issues in the saga that couldnt have been stopped.

From what I've seen / heard it was mainly due to a technicality in that the Magistrate couldn't be entirely sure what he said was as reported. He's still shown himself up as being a complete prat, however. One just hopes the usual suspects in the Chelsea crowd don't start trying to pin things on Anton Ferdinand when he didn't report it in the first place, although I suspect this is too much to ask...
