I just read a good article on the subject. Suggested, from what I could make of it that Sachin was past his sell by date, but it is not our problem, so he should be able to rot in Indian colours as it is romantic.

I read that article and I reckon your description is just about spot-on - both about the romanticism and the rotting.

Nah. He's playing till around the end of Aus tests without doubt. This doesn't mean much for his cricket career.

Sachin still plays ODIs so he should be playing in the ODI series v Sri Lanka in a few months time unless India decide to rest him.
