Every time I hear/read it I want to . It's the kind of thing I'd imagine rappers who have no talent, but have made a load of money off gullible fans say when they get abused on twitter.

CF has been on about it for some time now. Firstly,he suggested that he was hanging on only for his milestone. And that he was desperate to get the 100th 100 which is why he had suddenly started playing ODIs again(ignoring the fact that he had never stopped playing them). Now that he has got his 100 and has himself said very very clearly that he has no intentions of quitting the same poster suddenly seems to have a fantasy that he might suddenly retire even though the man himself has suggested otherwise.

So these constant baseless speculations that he might retire are annoying.

I just read a good article on the subject. Suggested, from what I could make of it that Sachin was past his sell by date, but it is not our problem, so he should be able to rot in Indian colours as it is romantic.

Tendulkar should retire when he feels he has nothing left to offer the Indian side, the selectors should intervene when they feel he has nothing left to offer the Indian side.

With Dravid gone the wheels have already been set in motion, if the player who comes in does well then there will be an route out for Tendulkar, if they don't then there will be a pressure for him to stay.

Both Sehwag and VVS are hardly on calm waters at the moment, singling out a fatted calf may backfire spectacularly.

For me Sachin is the batsman in the top order under least pressure to leave, or he should be. VVS, Sehwag and Gambhir need to get their act together first (though this is a little harsh on VVS to be fair).

A fair few Aus fans want Punter to be allowed to rot in Aus colours for the same reason but it seems to me that the selectors, bless their beautiful hides, aren't quite so keen.

I read that article in cricinfo. The shocking thing for me was the number of comments supporting it. The article was a bit below the belt, though I'd feel slightly disenchanted if one of the Aus players behaved that way. I can recall how hacked off I was at the hype around Shane Watson's performance in Bangladesh after the World Cup.

But back to Sachin - It's not like anyone else has been stacking on the runs and he was going to get the 100th 100 at some point with the accompanying song and dance about it.
