An attempt at an insult as not really a problem as I don't worship Sachin.

This is just childish and an attempt to provoke a response.

Really opened up a bit since this 100.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/asia-cup-20 ... 57709.html

"This anticipation and disappointment when I didn't get (the 100th hundred) was way greater than anything else. I don't know how to explain to you. I wish there was someone to guide me about how to deal with this," he said, sounding helpless, as if he was faced with a new and intractable problem.

It showed that even for someone who had almost casually shouldered the impossible demands of his fans for over two decades, and already owned most of the batting records worth owning, the expectations and media pressure can weigh heavy. "I have to admit I was relieved. This is now out of the way and I can start a new chapter. It was possibly the toughest phase of my life. There was so much hype and attention about the 100th hundred. I thought I possibly batted the best in my life, got close in a couple of games but I couldn't achieve it."

Oh stop taking yourself so seriously and trying to make it look like I just randomly chucked insults at you! All of the above were banter in response to your banter.

And as it happens there is a respectable school of opinion that would suggest Andy Flower was better than Sachin, based around the belief that your performance relative to your colleagues is important. Flower was so much better than his colleagues in the Zimbabwe team that his performances are to be given greater weight. And they were pretty great already.

If you think I take myself seriously you must be on another planet... The frustrating thing with your responses (in general) is that they carry very little argument and pretty much only 'banter' when you engage someone in a serious discussion. This is why people have adverse reactions...

It was not a good innings in respect to the colleagues he had, but the game plan and their abilities. Tendulkar did his job as much as anyone else.

Anyhow, I confidently expect Sachin to tour England again.

I also subscribe to the view that 100 'International' 100s means little. 50 Test 100s meant far, far more.

Stop that. Ive spent a lot of time over the last year staying up to ridiculous hours hoping to be awake for the milestone and enough is enough. I couldnt go through it again.

Annoyingly I missed it when it finally happened.

I nearly missed it. Wouldn't miss the hundredth Test hundred though. Bound to be special.

I havent read his interview, the one, which DDB has quoted. So apologies if this has been already mentioned.

I was watching his exclusive interview on Indian news channel Times Now earlier today and he was asked that it was strange that he didnt quit ODIs after the WC as that would have been the perfect fairytale occasion for him to bow out of ODI cricket. To this,he replied that he doesnt believe in going out on a high as he feels that when you are on a high, you must serve your team and retiring at that time would be selfish. He said that he would retire only when he feels that he is not bringing any value the team.

So those people, who are saying that he is going to retire soon now that he has got his hundredth 100, need a serious rethink.

He would not retire now that he has found his form back. In fact, I won't be surprised if this hundred is the beginning of another stellar year in Sachin's career. I really hope he can keep his form up as I want to see him play another WC.
