The thing is, this has built up and up due to media, idiots and fans and he admitted it had got to him. Therefore he of course wanted to get this off his back.
If he hadn't got it by attacking then we know by now what the same people would say.
Same people who call ODI's meaningless etc suddenly give the Asia Cup context when India lose. Okay then...

Devils advocate here, his innings cost indian about 10-15 runs, but not the match. But India only lost by 4 balls really, or 4 fours.
Sachin did not cost India the match, but his slow scoring played a part in India loosing the match. So what if sachin scored his first or 150th hundred. At the end of the day his team lost the match, and he played a part in that. His individual achievements should not cover up for the team achievements.
