Ashwin is merely the next contender after Ojha and Mishra failed to make much of an impresion and Harbie went badly off the boil.

I've always thought they should have brought Murali Kartik back when Kumble retired but it is far too late for him now.

India really need Ashwin to make the role his own, I remain unconvinced of his test ability at present but he certainly has potential.

If Harby is in form, then he has to play full stop. An in form Harby is the best spinner in India by some distance.

ok then well what if, ashwin had been in cracking form before IPL for india, would you still drop him for an in-form harby, even in ashwin had been in the form of his life?

I don't think test match players will be selected on performances in IPL. At the most those performances can get one in the ODI's. Harbhajan has had a below average Ranji season and zone series.
