In regards to County cricket, I actually think it would be best to get young (18/19/20) year olds into Grade cricket in Aus and Lancs League (Etc) in England to allow them to develop thier skills at the lower levels, I'm sure the BCCI would pay living expenses.

If they're any good then they might get spotted by a county and offered a junior (second XI) contract the following year.

Getting young unknowns into county cricket is difficult due to the ECB Overseas restriction which means that they tend to go for Internationals/Ex-internationals rather than those that are 3rd/4th in line.

I'm sure the ECB could broker a reciprocal agreement with the BCCI to get young players into the club leagues in India.

More than anything else India need to seriously look at the way domestic cricket is played. When I see Jadeja, Raina and co. smashing triple hundreds with such ease you just feel that standard is low. If Fletch is allowed to continue as a coach he should be allowed to watch a bit of domestic cricket as he is good at spotting young talent.

Soulberry tweeting that it is being put out that Dhoni is to be axed due to rift between him and Sehwag, no retirements to happen. Don't know if it is true, but if it is then the picture will be clearer in the morning.

Sehwag "Now is the time we need the support from fans and everybody. They should back their own team. Which [is what] every media did. Even England media or Australia media or South Africa media, they back their teams. They criticise in such a manner that the player will not go down. They criticise their performances but they don't criticise in such a manner that the team will go down when they read the articles and see the television."

Go on team India, we are with you. :india We who have been part of the cricketing systems are behind you during your struggling days and that is about lacs of Mumbai club cricketers alone and millions worldwide. Add to it many ex and current domestic and international cricketers from India and across the world. I am sure this fan base is enough and more relevant as far as cricket is concerned. Don't take the media seriously, majority of them have only theoretical knowledge about proper cricket. majority of them have zero practical experience at proper cricket to see a complete picture. They will use squares to patch up a circle. They can't think like cricketers. if you have a group of critics , you also have a group of supporters you are looking for. Our support is more than enough and strong. You will win and we will enjoy the winning runs / wickets you take. The cricketing fraternity is at your support. :india

Hope Sehwag reads this :)

Ian Chappell has some interesting thoughts about some o fthe main issues facing India right now.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-india-2011/content/current/video_audio/551391.html

In this interview, Chappell makes the following observations;

1 - Indian cricket needs a review "from top to bottom." Sweeping changes needed, including players and administrators.
2 - There's a culture problem, on and off the field. Chappell points out that Indian cricket seems for fucussed on individual achievements rather than team results.
3 - The "star culture is a problem in India... Too much concentration on what Sachin needs to do to break this record and that record."
4 - On the Indian captaincy; "Hopefully they're looking at what Michael Clarke is doing and seeing that that is captaincy and what we're doing is not captaincy.
5 - Dhoni is not a Test captain, Sehwag is not the answer. Kohli is a future captain, but he's not ready now.
"Hey, doll. Could you scare up another round for our table over here? And tell the cook this is low grade dog food. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it." Al Czervik, aka Rodney Dangerfield in "Caddyshack" (1980)

Yes. The denial from everyone in Indian cricket isn't easy to stomach.

Didn't really effect us before, why now? It's not something you'd want though.

Yes but not sure whether Kohli will ever be mature enough. Stick with Dhoni till you get some established players.

Chappel may have some good points but "Hopefully they're looking at what Michael Clarke is doing and seeing that that is captaincy and what we're doing is not captaincy" irritates me a bit.

I dont know much about Clarkes captaincy but, if India have as many problems as Chappell suggests, does giving them a tonking really make Clarkes captaincy somethiung to follow - esp so soon after 47 all out and losing to New Zealand?
