looks like we need Mishra back!

to be fair - Viru had two ducks against Eng when he should never have been playing and apart from that he's only really played this series in Aus. Gambhir also had injuries during that series, hopefully that 83 will get him going again.

I think VVS is more likely to produce a match winning knock in the next test than Kohli or Rohit, so I'd keep him.

But if we lose the series, then I'd think that's time for VVS to call it a day

It'll be IPL soon, so they'll have to buck up for that. Wonder if they're looking forward to it.

Well they'll be forced to play it no matter what.

It's also why Lax is probably finished after this tour as without cricket for 8 months(doesn't get picked in IPL) he's going be struggling to stay in form/fit for tests. Dravid should go too, but we'll see.

Actually, starts 4 April, so some way off. They'll have two weeks off after the Asia Cup before IPL. Though some of the Test players won't be involved in that anyway.

Laxman might be one least in need of a break, but gets one anyway.

Dhoni could rest from some of the ODI cricket presumably.

But people are harsh on Lax, when we stuck with Dravid averaging 31 for 4 years away from home(excluding Bangla and with no hundreds) I think you can give VVS at least this series...

I'd certainly rest Dhoni for home ODI's - Parthiv can cover

If he wants to play Tests he can easily play County Cricket.
Ian Bell: first England player to 10,000 Test runs.
Stuart Broad: first England player to 400 test wickets.

Didn't the BCCI stop him from playing CC last year?

Maybe not. he was going to play for Notts in 2008, but wasn't permitted because Notts had ICL players. Not finding anything more recent than that.

He played for Lancs. The BCCI have no problem because he has the time as he doesnt do ODIs / 20Ts.
