I haven't really given myself the chance to have a look at him in the flesh. There are a lot of people who think we signed the wrong brother, but it's early days yet and a rotten time of the year to not be a big turning leggie

maybe we can get Cam Steel back ;)

Now there's an idea!

And naturally Parkinson gets the breakthrough!

new ball hasn't done for us what it did for them

I suppose that's because we'd only lifted 2 of their top 6 when it became available, whereas they'd had 5 of ours

I can see them ending up with a 200 lead and then setting us the task of not capitulating

I don't see how we win this game from here, so it's all about not getting steam rollered. We do have the batters to not get steamrollered, but then we do have the bowlers to not conceded a 200 run lead, and yet we might

well, we're still ahead, but 3 wickets in a day and one of them a night watchman suggests a hard day.

We have some power lifting to do tomorrow

Might get rain tomorrow looking at the forecast but if we find ourselves under pressure to bat for say even say a couple of sessions on the last day I can see it going badly!
Was always going to be tricky against this lot but at least we're not looking at a certain defeat...although we might well be if that forecast tomorrow turns out to be wrong!

ah yes.... I forgot about the rain. All Sunday morning and a fair bit in the afternoon according to my phone this morning. Monday looks okay, so maybe they'll bat until lunch on Monday and let Harmer skittle us in the afternoon

If it does rain for a chunk of tomorrow it might spice the pitch up a bit. Ball is still reasonably new..... don't give it to Carse

Thing I don't understand is why Essex didn't try to accelerate in the last session, long day in the field for our bowlers:benign pitch, wickets in hand and a dodgy forecast tomorrow.

First time this season that Browne has made the team, so maybe he didn't want to blow it. Khushi might be more wary now that his bat is half his preferred size

Essex have 2 potential points deductions that might hit them this season. First the bat, which will definitely hit them, the only question is how many. We got 10, but it could be 16, given that they won that game

Then the racism charge is still rumbling along and will catch up with them at some point, but it may not be this season.... it has been going on for a very long time

For once, I'm feeling very sanguine about the weather.

I'm off to N Yorks later for an overnight stay, so it can rain all day today, for me

5fer for Parky and 3 of them were bowled, so presumably he's getting good turn

He has had a good game, maybe I underestimated him!

drawn

they've gone early. I thought they had to wait until 5pm, but maybe it's raining or something
