Vic Demain says the ground is completely saturated and has never known it to be so bad. Didn't sound too optimistic for tomorrow if the forecast overnight rain comes although he did say the wind is beneficial.
If things are that bad shouldn't it have been obvious that no play would be possible today and it could be abandoned before the scheduled start? Seems pointless to see if a fully saturated ground will be fine after a couple of hours!

I wonder how many people unnecessarily went down to the ground this morning?

Quite a few I bet given the weather. Demain said it was sod's law to have sunshine and blue skies.

looks like a delayed start again, but no further information from the club, for a change

weather is much worse than yesterday, so we'll probaby start at some point, despite it being baltic, with poor light and high winds

Interesting decision to call it off half an hour before the scheduled inspection. Slightly iffy forecast for the weekend so we could be looking at a total washout.

and yet it's still sunny, as it was yesterday

hard to stand up though, as I found when I went out earlier

I imagine it was the improving nature of the weather that prompted the umpires to call it early

Probably! Still very windy so if we avoid the overnight rain and possible Sunday showers we might get some play.

my phone suggests a spell of rain overnight, but dry tomorrow.... same as the last 2 days
