ususal start to the new campaign..... inspection at 12 o'clock

I did note the squad yesterday, but I've forgotten it... 14 man squad, I think. I'd like to check who was in the squad, but as usual I can't get onto the club website

I went on nearly every county website yesterday to check availability for my FL teams. I have to say that our website is by some margin the least user friendly website of the lot

Website not working for me either. Borthwick is in the squad - although there are a couple of other batting options so it suggests a fitness test for him this morning.

I've not been able to get on the website for about two weeks. Presumably the same person who is in charge of player recruitment is also in charge of IT.....

Capt Lees is a man on a mission. 63 no off 60 balls

I reckon he fancies an ashes recall if Crawley falls flat on his face and YJB gets the gloves instead of being asked to open

First wicket down. Lees for 79

pace of scoring had just started to slow a little

McKinney in for Capt Chaos at 3

No de Leede, so both Clark and Bushnell get the chance to impress in the middle

team is.... Lees (c), Jones, McKinney, Bedingham, Robinson (wk), Clark, Bushnell, Raine, Carse, Potts, Kuhnemann

Jones reaches his 50

147-1

161-1 at tea. 33 overs bowled, so a good session for us, especially given that it's cold, dark and a bit windy with a bit of dampness in the air. Most of what I've seen was played under floodlights, so an encouraging start. McKinney off to a faster start than against the Uni, with 3 fours in his 11 balls faced. Came out of the Park View academy, seemingly, which is the school that all my kids and older grandkids attended. Doing pretty well for himself.

Campbell on the live feed said that McKinney was probably going to play today, even before the hand injury for Calamity Jane

Jones still there on 77

McKinney chips one to Pujara at mid off for 35. Pity that. wrong shot poorly executed

213-2 after 42 overs
