T20 (it is a T20) against Northerns starts in 20 mins
I wonder how shambolic we'll be
Northerns have opted to bat first

Durhamfootman wrote:I had actually forgotten about Murphy signing for the first 7 games
so I suppose we appear to be looking at this
Lees
Jones
Numpty
Bedingham
Robinson
Trevaskis/Bushnell/Clark
Coughlin/de Leede
Raine
Carse
Potts
Murphy
with decisions needed to be made in the middle order
the rest of the Zim tour matches are T20's according to crapinfo, but strangely each of the two innings are scheduled to last 3 hours 30 mins, so your guess is as good as mine
The final 2 games 12th and 14th March are 50 over games.
A
DeLeede has played very little 1st class cricket so really he should start with the 2nd XI but this won't happen. I suspect he'll start with Clark and DeLeede in the middle order.

well, de Leede is the gaffer's signing, of course
I'm happy to see how things pan out..... frankly I'm just amazed that we now have enough players to fight over 2 places in the starting XI. At the end of last season I wasn't sure if we would be able to put out a first XI

ah well, we must think he'll be around in June and July. That at least is good news...... as is moving the good ship Durham's quarterdeck a little further away from Capt Numpty. If we keep moving it further away from him, eventually he'll have to either let go of the rail or grow very long arms, very quickly

Northerns limited to 128-9 in their 20 overs
Borthwick picked up 5-16
maybe the sun can rise in the west after all

now this is more like it
chasing a tiny total and well ahead of the rate, we start losing a wicket every over. Very Durham-esque
if you can lose your head while everyone around you is keeping theirs, then you'll be a Durham T20 player, my son
no Lees today, although he is playing. We must have decided to give everyone else some batting practice..... assuming, of course, they can stay in long enough to get some

100-6 with Pottsy and Trev realising that with only 30 runs required off 10 overs, then they perhaps don't need to try and hit every ball to the boundary

knocked it off with 40 balls to spare as Trev and Potts see us home comfortably
