I thought deLeede was a right liability when I saw him in the T20 dribble. He'd played in a couple of CC matches and hadn't scored any runs of note, been given a bit of tap with the ball. His only saving grace appeared to be a bit of a knack of picking up key wickets while being milked for lots of runs, but he ended the red ball season with some big scores and decent bowling returns and looking like he brought a genuine balance to the side, so lots of credit to him for the way he progressed in such a short period of time.

From the little I'd seen of him with Lancs and a pretty poor England debut, I wasn't at all sure about Matt Parkinson. When we signed him at first, I couldn't see how he could help us with a red ball, tbh, but having seen him bowl a few times now, I've completely changed my mind. He's a very good bowler and it's a shame that Kent got him. Lets hope his brother can do something similar for us next year. It's a shame Leics didn't pick a spinner, because I'd have liked to get a look at him. It would have been an ideal way to compare the brothers

I've nearly forgiven Borthwick, KO...... nearly

I agree on all counts. The white ball specialist de Leede now looks like a natural red ball all-rounder!

Yes, he arrived with the white ball reputation, but has looked a lot more of a natural fit in the red ball side. He looks quite a loose bowler in terms of giving runs away, but does seem to have a wicket taking knack - which is ok if you have other bowlers who can keep it tight because he gives you a bit of something different. Maybe it is highlighted more in white ball because we are deprived of most of our senior bowlers, so there's nobody able to keep the scoring rate down.

Terrible and hard to fathom considering his reputation was as a white ball specialist- had only played one ( maybe 2?) red ball games in his career.
First ball duck in the WC warmup against Australia but a couple of wickets and pretty economical so it's all very odd.
