I think that's 4 catches Sussex have dropped. Jones on 25 ish, Clark twice and now Raine

done for the day
70 overs bowled, which is pretty good given the morning session was lost.
352-7

Been out so only half following the score - they're certainly signalling their intent! Sounds a bit frenetic but entertainingly so. Seems as if all the pre-season talk about playing ultra positive cricket was not just idle talk!

Absolutely. Plus, any day when Durham go past 350 in their first innings, no matter how they do it, I'm pretty happy. Good start, let's hope the bowlers can carry it on!

one cautionary note, though, KO.... there's a very short boundary to one side, hence the 10 sixes we hit. When we come to bowl, field placings and bowling lines will be absolutely key. If we don't bowl good lines there is the potential for the batsmen to get full value for any bat on ball. That's always true of course, but particularly so in this case
It would be helpful if we were to knock off Pujara early

Sussex 4 down, so we're doing okay, but the 5th wicket partnership is building and we need to lift the wicket of Pujara sooner rather than later. Garton at 7 suggests that Sussex have a long tail.

Former player watch
Cam Steel carried his bat for 141 -v- Lancs. Surrey were indebted to Smith and Foakes for pulling them out of a hole, but Steel scored more than both of them and Surrey have a sizeable 442 to defend
Stonemercenary got a 10 ball blob on route to helping Middlesex to 4-4 in reply to Essex' 266
Rushy in action for Warks and has lifted the wicket of Cam Bancroft for an obdurate 44. Dickson got out for 5 for Somerset
Matt Salisbury stopped bowling on 7.2 overs so I'm guessing he's injured himself

2 wickets for new boy Matt, but it's Raine who traps Pujara in front
271-7, but McAndrew and Carson are keeping the score ticking along with an 8th wicket partnership up to 26
lead is still over 100... just. We can't afford to allow these irritating lower order partnerships this season
