Our new head coach was on Look North tonight. Campbell seems keen to emulate the Stokes approach to winning and losing. It'll be interesting to see how that works out this season with the players he has at his disposal

Some good news at last. I'd like him as a captain but realistically for that to happen Badger would have to resign

New signing...I surely can't be the only one who was never heard of him. Clearly signed because of links with the new coach- record does not look particularly impressive so an odd signing for me. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

nope... new one on me
here's me thinking Western Australia... Jhye Richardson, Joel Paris, Matt Kelly... almost certainly not Mitch Marsh, and then they throw in a curve ball like that
oh well, lets hope the new coach knows what he's doing. I'll be delighted if he does.

The Who - or The Two! - are doing a gig at the Riverside in July. I will try and get a ticket.

Bas de Leede announced as a new signing. 2 year deal. top order bat and med pace allrounder. Dutch... obviously. Doesn't count as overseas, same as Glover, so we can still sign another one of those

the new website is crap, btw. It would be nice if 'take me there' actually takes you anywhere at the first time of asking. My experience is that I have to click on it 3 or 4 times before it does and it takes ages of buffering between each each attempt. It appears to be to differentiate cricket from events, but then all the cricket news is about events anyway, so there seems to be little point. Maybe that will change once we fly out of the traps with victories in each of the first 3 or 4 matches

Interesting signing but I'm assuming Dutch players won't have any experience when it comes to FC cricket. He seems to be a genuine all-rounder so could be useful. Really think though we need at least a couple of signings with a proven record in FC cricket.

sounds like another white ball player that we're taking a punt on being able to play red ball. At least they aren't taking up overseas berths and it's not as if we have a packed squad

Yes. If these two flying Dutchmen can make an impact in red ball cricket they will be astute signings, seems like a big risk though. We seem to be still operating on a low budget. According to North this guy is the best all-rounder outside of the test playing countries- we will soon find out!

oh lordy, I hadn't even considered flying dutchman references. Doubtless that will appear on every headline and every bit of promotional advertising for the next 2 years. I really hate lazy tabloid headlines, so it's probably going to grate on my nerves a bit

oh... crumbs.... the first time de Leede hits a boundary it'll immediately spark Basball references and our marketing boys will probably use it even if he never does
