His bowling got a right beating and he scratched around with the bat picking up the odd single here and there during the death overs. Not just him, of course... everyone not named Sowter or Raine got a pasting with the ball and everyone batting below Robinson (at 4) scratched around for odd singles in the last 2 or 3 overs, when other teams were adding 30 or 40 runs in that period against us.
I can only assume that his great improvement in the 4 day side gave him a lot of confidence when he turned out for NL in the qualifiers and now here, because his recent performances are unrecognisable from those in June
