Oh, I've misunderstood then, because Overton C bowled. I knew he'd been hit on the head by his brother, now I think about it, so the delayed concussion makes sense

Lots of runs around. Maybe not the fault of the balls after all.

there are too many roads being prepared around the country for it to be a coincidence.

the balls are still rubbish though. More balls had to be changed for going out of shape in the first 5 rounds (or something) of the CC than in the whole of last season

Hampshire look to be making a horlicks of this run chase against Yorks. 6 down and still 90 odd to get. The target was under 200

I've been reading and watching lots and lots of stuff about the red ball reset, of late and the flat pitches around the country have clearly been mandated for from upon high. The purpose? To cut off the flow of wickets for the 75 mph 43 year old county stalwarts, to stop 2 day county cricket matches, to force counties into developing a new crop of young fast bowlers and to get more and more opportunities for young spinners (particularly leggies) to get FC cricket time.

Clearly Essex didn't get the memo, as 16 wickets fall on day one at Chelmsford, and with the prospect of a two day result very much on the cards

Keaton Jennings out for 318. Careless to miss out on a quadruple century.

Thirteen wickets in an Essex win for Harmer. Unlucky that.

desperately unlucky

that big partnership between Sir Steely and Westley, will give Essex something to point at when Big Rob Key comes banging on the door demanding to know why they have gone back to preparing Harmer wickets instead of giving him what he wants

I see Sam Northeast made 410 not out, lunchtime declaration!
I get that Glamorgan needed to try and win but 10 wickets in 2 sessions seems unlikely to say the least...now I've saud it there will probably be a collapse.
3rd highest score in Championship cricket and the highest in the 21st century.
I was surprised to find out he's only 32, thought he was older.

Collapse underway. Leics 8 down with 10 overs remaining
9down!

Unbeaten stand of 461 for sixth wicket! In 4.5 hours.

To score nearly 600 runs in the first innings and go on to lose by an innings is shocking

and we think we're rubbish. That's a whole different level of ineptitude
