are you down there Capt? I confess I can think of about two dozen things that I'd much prefer to waste my time on.

Unless the weather holds up well at the end of September I think my season is done. Never say never.... I don't usually get apoplectic on the first morning of a 4 day game, so maybe there's another 2 hours in me yet

Yes, I decided to pop down for second innings despite it being a near hopeless situation!

the spinner must be on because we're losing a wicket every other over atm. Capt Beaky the latest for a 5 an over 45

this might not take too long, because the asking rate is 10 now, so we don't have time for any more rebuilding phases

we need to be put out of our misery

Yes, required rate 10.4 and 70 behind on DLS!

I'm at the stage now, where I'm hoping for the worst possible outcome to the season

second bottom of the 2nd div (work in progress)
humiliation in the money maker (tick)
humiliation in the irrelevent (on target)

at least that way there is nowhere for our top team, Beavis and Butthead, to hide

just as well we tied Bedders down to a longer contract or he'd be off at the end of the season, despite being offered the captaincy for next year

only lost by 6 runs in the end.

Kudos to Coughlin for getting us much closer than I thought we would

the website headlined the 9 run win as a 'thriller' when they should have headlined it as a 'horror' for nearly losing it from a position of total dominance

this will have been a thriller

from 'the cricketer', talking about the Somerset game and the Ben Green knock

https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/roy ... o_far.html
He started with a breezy enough but not game altering 45-ball half century. He was handed a lifeline but few thought anything of it.

And then something quite unexpected, quite stunning happened. The members had started to drift out. Green's opposite number Scott Borthwick – having delivered a respectable first stint – returned, this time defending the short leg-side boundary. Four sixes flew into the car park. The Durham laughing and joking stopped, replaced by a hint of concern.

"I managed to get going in one over against the spinner," Green recalls. "That built some momentum. I've probably not struck the ball better than that."

I knew that was what happened

And I left before the end! Looks like a brilliant innings from Coughlin. Annoying thing is that Clark's dismissal looked like a no ball to me - was very high.

Still think it shows why we should have batted first. An iffy attack's best chance of succeeding is if the opposition are under scoreboard pressure. Although if Coughlin hadn't been restricted to 3 overs then we may well have won and the decision to bowl would have been justified.

repeated indiscipline suggests a discontented playing staff to me

I understand that.... I'm as discontented as it's possible to get

fortunately there is no chance of it affecting our chances of progression

even the thought that we might have had any chance is risible

they could have been really severe and deducted 16 points from the CC instead

if Graves had still been around they would have
