At least Turner seems to have understood that batsmen like Borthwick and Mr Ned would just suck the life out of the second half of the innings and has gone straight for the bowlers. Suggests that he might have done his homework

perhaps there's hope after all?

ah well.... thanks to a final over with a couple of lusty blows from Mr Ned and some indisciplined bowling we make 184-8. Better than I expected, but I generally assume that no matter what we score, we've almost certainly left 20 or 30 runs out there, so we'll probably have to bowl well to defend it. Lets hope we do

I wonder if Captain Ashtain has seen Capt Beaky bowl yet? Presumably not because he's one of the 5 bowlers in the side

Looks like a pretty decent effort with the bat although it's not a big ground.
Raine abd and Borthwick at 10 and 11 - on one hand it suggests we have a lot of depth and options with bat and ball...but on the other hand having many options has not worked in the past.

He's such a mercurial cricketer. Had terrible luck with injuries but when he plays he is usually either brilliant or hopeless.
Current score suggests this should be a straightforward win but ...
