Signed Robinson from Kent on loan for T20- wicketkeeping batsman,correction batter. Ned has been playing with a broken finger since 1st game of season v Glamorgan.

I think he has a good reputation, have a feeling he even stood in as captain for a couple of games.
No wonder Eckersley has been struggling!

I was wondering why we'd taken him on loan. An injury to Mr Ned makes sense now. His glovework has been less than impeccable at times this season, but that would explain why. By extension... does that mean we have no back up keeper now that the Irish nugget has left us? Believe it or not.... I genuinely can't remember his name

Yes! Getting rid of him was a wise move but you'd think it might have been a good idea to have a replacement reserve keeper.

It wasn't. Weather was that lousy on Friday didn't attend. On Saturday two of our party went to Wembley where apparently there was a football match so we remaining two did a Thames cruise and a stroll around Greenwich. I'm acquiring some sense in my senior years.
On the w/k front, I suspect Macintosh hasn't developed as they'd hoped. Robinson is a shrewd signing. W/k will be standing up for a lot of the overs in T20,suspect Trev, Badger and Drizzle will be bowling their full allocation.

I'm only surprised we didn't ask him to come back and offer him the T20 captaincy as an extra sweetner.... we have a history of those sorts of ridiculous offers

I see we're starting the T20 with 3 away games. There's a story in The Times about counties recording poor ticket sales - after record breaking sales in 2019. ECB apparently turned down requests for marketing funding and the counties are blaming the low sales on the competition having a lower profile thanks the The 100. Some suggestions that it is a deliberate campaign...surely not
Starting the competition mid-way through the working week will surely get the crowds in.

The Hundred shouldn't affect ticket sales for the T20 at the non-Hundred venues, some counties were charging £30 for a single T20 match,that's naturally not going to compete with the giveaway offers on the heavily ECB subsidised. What ECB hadn't realised,not surprisingly,is that this season the Hundred clashes with the 1st month of the football season which will have an adverse effect on cricket attendances. Bottom line is,though, whether it's better weather between the Hundred or T20 schedules.

Have to say that Robinson is a shrewd signing. Need a good wicki if he's up to the stumps for pace off the ball-Trev, Turner, Drizzle and Borthwick our spin options. Coggers,until injury reoccurs, and Carse our seam options. Could be a lot of leather chasing.
Batting wise should be OK if Dickson and Bedingham are fit.

Agreed. A very good signing, hopefully Dickson will be back soon.
