Confirmation that Stokes will miss the start of the season, looks as if most of the centrally contracted batsmen are available so presumably Lees will be too.

According to the Times all players who played in the West Indies will be rested from the 1st round of CC matches ,with the exception of Crawley for some reason. Implies they'll be available thereafter.

Both articles are ambiguous as neither article specifically named Lees.
This is the relevant part of the Times article:-
"Zak Crawley, the Kent batsman, will be the only player to have appeared in the Test series in the West Indies who is available next week,"
Can't see why Crawley would be available and Lees not but it is ECB we're discussing
Hopefully he will be available but the weather forecast suggests a lot of disruption to the match anyway.

Yes, it's confusing! Other odd thing in The Times is Broad being rested from the opening round even though he hasn't played since January.

Unless he's unavailable because he's being interviewed for the test captaincy

Broad probably didn't fancy it himself. He'll only play 3 or 4 games at most before tests and like any sane bloke doesn't fancy it in early April.
I think the articles on England players availability was referring only to players who had some form of central contract hence no mention of Lees, nor Dan Lawrence.
Expect Lees,therefore,to be available.

No success for the bowlers other than Gibson and I think Dickson was the only batter to pass 50 - and it took him 2 knocks in the innings to get there!

Doubt it but the club seem to rate him a him. W/k batsman Macintosh was also in the squad v Yorkshire so presumably he's also knocking on the door.

With Petersen and Stokes to come reasons to be optimistic.

A distinct possibility. Whatever the combination it is still likely to be 10/2 after the first half hour!
