HNY, btw :salute

And HNY to you. Emailed club again, this occasion to Bostock, enquiring 're possible squad strengthening. Awaiting response without expectation.

Surely some squad strengthening is needed, especially if Lees is called up by England? Two batsmen (one overseas presumably) is the bare minimum IMO - I was disappointed that they didn't go for/get Northeast, and would suggest a spinner, but that never seems to be on the agenda. Our squad is incredibly thin, but the players we do have are good on the whole, and a better batting line up coupled with our seam bowling would hopefully make us a strong team.
Belated Happy New Year Everyone!

Hello DF - Yes, maybe a missed opportunity for us, although I realise the head coach position wasn't up for grabs. I'd like to see Ottis or Benks in charge, but I suspect that's based mainly on sentiment! On a slightly different tack - Have you heard anything about potential recruitment? Or are we really going into next season with this pretty threadbare squad? Any thoughts?

threadbare seemingly. There is only an overseas spot to fill. I've heard nothing on that front

Colly would be my choice as head coach, but he'll go to England before us, sadly. Maybe in a few years time he'll come back

It's Colly's fault we lost Benks so he can do one.
I'm sure any of
Ottis
Benks
Divo
Hussey
would have responded to the call had they been asked, instead we got the charisma challenged Kiwi.
Typical

as you were with the fixtures

still 7 matches before 22nd May,
Still 1 match in early June
Still 2 matches squashed into July whilst every player in the land is in T20 long handle mode
Still 4 matches in September

More CC matches in the height of summer is the clarion call from HQ. A two match increase to be precise, except Durham don't have any of those extra matches and I think the ECB have a different idea of what 'height of summer' means. For me height of summer is the school holidays... last 2 weeks of July and all of August.

then again height of summer is a subjective description. Maybe in ECB world height of summer really is 12th June and 5th September

Gareth Harte is returning to the area, ostensibly to play for Burnopfield. I'd certainly welcome him back into the fold on his 2020 season form. At the end of season forum, Bostock said they were "actively seeking" an overseas to replace Bancroft.

just bought my membership for the year and was surprised at how cheap it was..... £145 when I was expecting to pay £200 ish

then I realised that as far as the club are concerned I'm no longer an adult member, but a senior member

a senior member :scared

Their definition of "actively seeking" is certainly open to misinterpretation. I agree about Harte though, although I would have hoped that we might have shown a bit more ambition in general, especially in the batting line up where we're incredibly thin, and relying on Bedingham managing to repeat last season's form, and could be without Lees too.
