oh dear.... Lancs are pulling the Aigburth stunt so favoured by Peter Moores again. When they won the title by using this ground for the whole season it felt like a rarity when a match lasted longer than 2 days.

nope.... thumped for four instead

Unless Warks can find a way to beat Somerset tomorrow, then Lancs are county champions (which sticks in the craw if truth be known)

OMFG

WTF

Ah well I still remember 1973, and arguably the best opening batsmen to ever grace a County side.

Or Barry Richards?
But I'll go back to the '50s and offer Roy Marshall.

That was one of the most gripping days of County Cricket I can recall. Once over the disappointment we can look back and see that it's been a remarkable season for Hampshire with many great moments to mull over. Getting into Div 1 at the last moment , then scrabbling their way to the top. The way they came from nowhere to get to the T20 quarters and then the incredible win over Notts in the quarters. Winning The Hundred (with some help from Sussex!) ...a comp I quickly got into and really enjoyed. So but for the lows of those last 3 overs on T20 finals day and the last ball today it would have been 10/10 for all round entertainment this year. See you all back here in April as we start again ... in the old Div1 / Div2 CC format.

Fine thanks dfm, hope you and yours are enjoying good health.

2 years ago since I last posted, not much has happened in the intervening period, haha!

Probably just a fleeting visit after yesterday's high drama. Must admit I'm glad Warwickshire won the title in the end, and Danny Briggs didn't end up as the cause of our near miss.

Can't say I agree with haggis, we've essentially ended up with nothing this season, as I certainly do not hold any affiliation with the Southern Brave and that God awful competition. Mind you we did punch above our weight in the end with the squad we had this season.

Being able to watch all the CC on YouTube this season has been great. I've had every match on in the background (while trying to work!) and really got to know all the different characters in the Hampshire squad like never before. I've felt a huge re-connection with county cricket after a few years of not knowing who's who, apart from the star performers/England players.
