Notts going to fall just shy.

Only 4 games made it to day 4, and 2 of those are sure of a result, barring rain. Then it appears Surrey and Glamorgan could play for a week and not get a result...

While it can be deceiving sometimes with the camera angles they use at county grounds in judging movement, it would appear the highlights of the Essex v Northants game indicate very little problems with the pitch, and very many problems with county batters defensive techniques. One ball to an Essex left hander comes into the stumps, then seams enough to take his outside edge, but that was the only dismissal that seemed to misbehave a lot.

The rest is a car crash of playing around on target balls, or players struck on the crease not getting forward.

Another worrying indication of the total lack of batting talent around..

I'm pleased tbh. I would have hated Lancs to win the title playing on a lumpy old piece of nonsense.... again!

Well done to Warks and to skipper Will Rhodes.

Wonder if a team has ever won with a top batting average of 35.

Plenty of sub-20 bowling averages, including some not great bowlers over their careers. Guess Warwickshire provided some lousy pitches to bat on this year.

No,seem to have produced pitches with an even balance between bat and ball. After the mess Dougie Brown left,as you say they've made some very shrewd signings of county rejects with both bat and ball with a smattering of home growns. All credit to them.

Well played Warks. An utter thrashing to lift the Bob Willis trophy

odd that both the ECB and CA want these 5 day finals and sell it like it's a great thing, but how many ever go to 5 days?

if the weather's rubbish, perhaps

even test matches rarely go to 5 days unless the weather interferes

but then I suppose if the finals keep getting played almost in the middle of autumn perhaps it's sensible

the cricketer is arguing that the Bob Willis Trophy should be a season opener rather than a season finale.... a bit like the charity shield (or whatever it's called these days)

Seems Tim (Bresnan) has retired. Seems like a long career, with plenty of good days, particularly the 2012 Ashes in Australia. Hope his retirement goes well.
