A shame we couldn't give David Ripley a better send-off. The batting is a concern. Perhaps need to look at getting a decent overseas one for next season.

Yorks looked dead and cremated this time yesterday, but seems the game will last until tomorrow. Good effort.

Hard to see anyone stopping Lancs from being champions, now that they only need 9 runs with 3 wickets in hand. Only Warks can do it, but they must beat Somerset and that is looking less and less likely.

Seems that the 'when in doubt, take cricket out of the equation by playing at Aigburth' approach will stand them in good stead yet again
