It'll need a lot of rain with the form Jimmy's in. However, irrelevant really - both Lancs and Yorks are guaranteed to go into the top division for the final 4 games. Next week's Roses will decide who tops their current conference.

Looks like Group 3 final round will be 3 dead rubbers - each pair of teams is more than 24 points separated from each other pair.

Kent have done an England- their game against Sussex was delayed by an hour because they had to select a brand new squad because of a positive covid test!

ah... I wondered why I barely recognised any of the players from either side

tbh I assumed it was because neither side had anything to play for in this match and they were all being rested for the 'Silly'

or the 'Very Silly' as it might have to become

Lancs 96-0. Already too many, and Jimmy the Saint is playing.

Derbyshire v Essex game has been abandoned after one of the home side tested positive for covid! I think Essex had little chance of going into division one - presumably no chance at all now.
Apparently all of the Derbyshire squad involved in this match, and the ones involved on Friday night at the Riverside, have to isolate. Probably just as well Derbyshire aren't in contention for the Blast QF's.

Something going on in The Roses match- play suspended because the umpires have deemed a section of the playing area unsafe. It seems to have come after an early tea following an injury to Dominic Leech.
Lancashire twitter helpfully pointing out that he was sitting up...as he was stretchered off!
Seems as if he may have slid into concrete hoardings because of a wet patch on the outfield.

Not much info about it on BBC, but they make it sound like a serious injury.

Yes, a leg injury that required 15 minutes of on field treatment from both physios. Umpires have apparently had another inspection but play is still suspended.

Areas of the field declared "unfit and unsafe"by umpires.

I wonder how the conditions could have deteriorated during play. It sounds as if the umpires blundered in declaring it fit for play in the first place, the delay must be because they're waiting for it to dry out.
