The season has got underway in baltic weather conditions (as expected)
All 18 First Counties are providing some sort of multi camera live streaming coverage, but some counties are going further by getting as close to full TV style coverage as possible.

This season is a change of format to the previous two Divisional structure. It is 3 groups of six, teams are seeded based on the 2019 final positions.
Group 1: Essex, Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire, Durham.
Group 2: Somerset, Hampshire, Surrey, Gloucestershire, Middlesex, Leicestershire.
Group 3: Kent, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Northamptonshire, Glamorgan, Sussex.
Top 2 in each group qualify for County Championship Division 1, 3rd and 4th play in Division 2, 5th and 6th play in Division 3 for a further 5 games. The team who finishes 1st in Division 1 wins the County Championship and play for the Bob Willis Trophy (a 5 day match at Lord's) against 2nd.
There is a minor change to the points system, 8pts are awarded for a draw. Also the visiting team no longer has a choice to bowl prior to the toss.
