That's a bit ominous although wickets seemed fairly hard ro come by for Warwickshire too - they eventually took a few but not easily.

@Durham university cc
Gutting news has just come through:
The police have deemed the game unsafe due to spectators, and how they are managed, out of our control.
Very upsetting but we will go on with our training and prepare for the season ahead!

Dickson has a side injury and Young isn't available so perhaps that's why Poynter is there.

It's the fact that he has the w/k symbol against his name that worries me. Sheer nepotism.

He took a bad tumble following through v Warks. Looked in some distress, got treatment and continued.

Yep. We could have played an extra bowler without weakening the bstting considering how few runs he scores. I wonder why Potts isn't there?
Essex will be far too good for us, Notts and Warks should be far too good for us, maybe Worcs too (definitely Worcs too if we're unlucky enough to have to face Moeen), so we might only have the 2 Derbyshire games to try and grab a win.... although that'll probably take Matt Critchley not playing, of course, in which case the season might be a baptism of fire for the prodigal son.
Still..... you never know.
Although we will know by 11.30 on the 8th April.... probably. After that there is the outside chance that Coughlin and Poynter get dropped and then we might have a chance to improve. Sadly it will probably take them 2 or 3 games to realise that those two are the millstones that will drag us down, but it might take the return of Bancroft for them to grasp that nettle
