Sounds as if it will end his IPL.

According to the paper the injury may benefit England. If the recovery goes well he could play in the first test whereas if his IPL season had gone the distance he almost certainly wouldn't have been available for it.

I don't suppose that means he will be able to warm up for the first test by playing a couple of matches for us, does it?

of course it doesn't..... that would be ridiculous

besides he is happily staying/being made to stay in India or you can kiss your money goodbye (delete as appropriate), so he'll probably need to be rested ahead of the first test after several weeks of 'cheering on his Rajasthan buddies'..... England won't want to tire him out after that

Sounds like a bad injury. Out for 12 weeks!

Marty Emmerson was thinking it might be the same finger that he badly damaged playing for us a few years ago and had to have straightened

I wondered if that was it. 3 months seems a long time.

his dad would have the finger cut off and gone straight back out to the middle..... probably gone on to score 100 off 63 balls

Young men today are just plain old soft ;)

Aye, but he was looking at the wrong ankle.
Carse was limping rather badly in the short time at the crease yesterday.
Hawway Coggers. Or Thompson?
