I can't see there being any return of spectators to the 2021 county championship season in April. Maybe not even in May

Can't say it'll affect me-I rarely visit in April. Plus side is it'll probably, hopefully, encourage the club to enhance their streaming provision. Have an obligation to do so, really, given how many members forfeited their refund for last year's membership.

Some speculation that the pubs won't open until early May so we could see a repeat of last year where spectators can watch the stream in the ground...but not sit in rhe stands!
Although the government have apparently denied that the plsn is for shops to ppen in April with hospitality the following month - I suspect the denial is because they haven't yet decided whether or not to revert back to the tiers post-lockdown. Just today the PM has implied he's minded to take a national approach as opposed to regional tiers.

Half century for Bancroft in the Big Bash.
Is time running out to try and get a deal arranged for our season? Things appear to be moving in the right direction on the covid front but there's still a lot of uncertainty. I suppose it'd be possible to sort something out after the season is underway if necessary.

it's a competition he's struggled in this season, so it's good that he's finally made a telling contribution

looking at the one day cup groups... if we are allowed to go and watch, we'll get to see us losing to some different teams this year.

then again, those teams may have been stripped of large numbers of their best players ahead of the inaugural season of 'the Silly'. We don't have many best players, so we stand a good chance of faring better in terms of the personnel left available

Is it still the ECB plan to deprive counties of their overseas players for the one day cup, in case people watch that instead of the Silly?

Not so sure. I think ECB reneged on that last year prior to the tournament being cancelled. Don't think there'll be many overseas for the Hundred anyway; see soon, draft 23rd Feb.I think

Ch4 had Simon Hughes on at the tea interval, from his home. He had his Durham coloured shirt hanging on the wall behind him
