Poles apart you'd think but McCarthy seemed a very sociable lad. Love to have Patel back here but forlorn hope now he's established his test place.
As far an overseas for T20, when pressed Franklin just said they'd consider nearer the date. Currently Bedingham is classified as overseas but that's under review with the expectation he'll be granted UK status.

It looks as though we'll have to register an intention to attend matches and will then be allocated a seat. I imagine that will cause problems if people are not allowed to sit in their favourite areas. That won't apply to the CC matches surely? I imagine it will be most important for the Dribble matches

There's a window available between IPL and India tourists for the whole T20 programme. Axer Patel return?

If Bancroft had been playing T20 he'd presumably have been wicketkeeper so perhaps we could look for someone to do that job ( and maybe captain too?) Latham would be great but I have a feeling the NZ tour coincides with the T20 campaign?
I'm not a fan of inexperienced captains in T20 given the need for quick decision making- especially if he has to bowl as well so I wouldn't be getting Borthwick to skipper the side.
Perhaps Coughlin could do it!
