Shaheen Afridi and one of the other Pakistan boys have signed for counties too. They make ideal overseas players because they don't have to organise their seasons around the IPL

Still completely disagree with players joining counties half way through a season. About time the ECB put a transfer restriction in mid season. Gets a headache trynig to follow who joins who each week

Northamptonshire's game on Friday goes ahead as the players who had been in contact with the Covid positive player have tested negative.

Apparently the game at Headingley against Durham on Wednesday was going to have 1000 spectators in but the local authority have said no!

which is fair enough. I don't think anyone will be allowed in before next season now, anyway

Yes. Seems as if the plan to open up the football grounds is on hold so almost certainly no chance of cricket ones opening.

Luke Wright and Ravi Bopara batted together for Sussex against Hampshire.

They opened the batting together for England at the 2009 World T20!

And Luke Wright didn;t look too far away from International level last night either.

Poor effort from Northants against Gloucester. Durham would find it fairly easy to mount such a poor chase after clearly conceding far too many runs for the conditions, but I'm not sure many other teams would

At least the bowlers are having a go, but it's far too little, far too late. I have no idea what the batsmen were up to

Essex rather threw their match with Surrey away. They appeared to be looking reasonably comfortable heading into the last few overs, too. Just goes to show the value of big hitting lower order players in the last 5 overs
