Glamorgan's 10th wicket partnership 118 and counting in under 11 overs. Callum Taylor reaches a century in his first First class match, Northant even worse than Durham !!!!!

Bob Willis Trophy here to stay.
Good idea imo. I'd also be in favour of a regional 50 overs tournament including minor counties.

popularity of bob willis trophy?

nobody's been to watch it

No promotion/relegation? nice and cosy cricket eh!

endless rounds of watching the same teams for the punters, with even less cricket for your subs.... how thrilling and innovative

If they want less, but more meaningful, cricket, then 3 divisions with one team going up/down where applicable makes more sense

and I'm sick and tired of the travelling argument.... if they want to reduce the time spent travelling up and down the country, link the 4 day comp to the one day comp and play them both in one trip.... easy! If the T20 Blast is overwhelmed by the hundredth for overseas players and TV money..... excellent... link the 4 day, 1 day and T20 together and do it all in one road trip. They'd hardly ever be on the road then

and while we're getting less cricket for our money.... how about reducing our subs to suit?

reducing subs? :panic :scared :point don't be fuckingsilly.... that's commie talk, mister

reducing subs :lmaoagain

I assume the popularity amongst supporters stems from streaming attendances but given that there's no other cricket to watch that's hardly surprising. The regional format continuing for next season is purely based on financial reasons,it will then be arranged on a seeded basis, presumably 3 divisions with promotion and relegation. I'd be perfectly happy with that arrangement; far better than playing half the CC season in early spring.

Ben Mike with three wickets on his birthday.

Seems an odd one - either looks flat and lacking in innovation or gets some pretty key wickets.

that's interesting. I couldn't read the whole article, only the first bit.

what makes you think the CC won't still be played in early spring? Or late autumn as well. Imagine how big a window that would leave for T20 and 1/100th

Now that the dictator has left,it appears that ECB has now reverted to its original purpose i.e. administer the game in line with the wishes of its members
" it is understood the ECB is open to proposals being put forward by the counties for change. It is likely that proposals to move to a conference system would be developed by the county’s Professional Game Group, a group of senior county executives who led the way in getting first-class cricket played this summer, and then discussed by the ECB’s cricket committee".
Format of next season is obviously dependant on whether the hundred folly goes ahead but with 4 less CC games it shouldn't be necessary to programme any for early spring.

Despite twice letting Glamorgan recover from poor positions Northamptonshire win with Charlie Thurston continuing a=his good form and Emilio Gay posting his maiden first class half century. It was quite disconcerting watching the live stream as the wind kept blowing the camera around.
