Sanderson is a not totally incompetent number 11. Anybody batting below him must be poor. Without the batting of Newton and Wakely we look very light in the batting department. Historically our lower middle order has done well but not this match.

I was reading the paper and Notts haven't won in an age- think it said 10 games since their last victory so they must be feeling tense and have just lost a 4th wicket. 127 more required. If it gets close I'd favour Yorkshire.

I like the way he's described as ex-England spinner (it is true, of course, and maybe that's the upside of one appearance a thousand years ago), but he could more accurately be described as former Shropshire spinner

He was with the team in Singapore pre-season so it's not exactly a blind signing. Hopefully he'll do a job and we haven't got any spinners.

I hadn't realised it was 2017 when he last played a first class match.
