Coggers going for his regulation 16 off his 1st over. Why do they persist with him?

ah well, that's it for another year

We were in with a shout for the QF's, but it wasn't to be.

an encouraging run of matches though

over 5 probably sums us up

3 wickets in the over to spin. Raine holed out, then 2 balls later Lees was stumped and 2 balls after that Bedders was run out

2 run outs in the innings, both in multi wicket overs

the bowling economies looked reasonable (apart from Coughlin, obviously), but chasing doesn't seem to be our forte

Yes but,at last, there does seem to be some plan and organisation to our T20.
Stats of our 3 new signings are interesting
Bedingham batting Av.13.85 SR 108
Behardien batting Av. 14.20 SR 87
Coughlin bowling. ER 10.55

A poor performance after the first 15 or so overs but we did well to still be in contention after the dreadful start to the competition.
Let's hope for a full season next year! It could happen- apparently there are rumours Chris Whitty may resign so that'll help...unless he joins the ECB :lmao

yes... all pretty hopeless really

We turned the bowling around and at least Gandalf eventually worked out that he could let the opposition batsmen throw one or two wickets away chasing filth from Coughlin for an over or two, but didn't bowl him out and let him concede 50odd runs every match. Potts has had his second consecutive good year in this format, Steel and Trevaskis have been pretty competent. Carse pulled himself together after being screwed up in England's tender care. Gandalf himself had his worst year with the ball for us, so I don't expect to see him return next year. Step up Capt Bangers in 2021, and back him up with a Tahir signing or someone of his ilk

Batting wise we have a top 3, but not much else. If they come off, we are in the game, but if they don't, we struggle. Add Bangers to that top 3 and we could become a more formidable batting unit next year. Steel did well opening last year, so it seems odd that after 2 poor matches we dropped him all the way down the order to 8 behind Coughlin and Carse. Felt like a bit of overkill. I can't help think we might have got a bit more out of him at 4 rather than having Bedders and Behardien scratching around for not very many.

Still..... not the disaster I was bracing myself for after the first 4 matches

Yep. I was expecting the only points to come fron washouts so it was a good turnaround. That lack of batting depth is a problem- we've had consistency at the top for these last 2 years but it always feels certain to go wrong after that.

it's been that way for as long as can remember

Years ago I was saying how T20 looked like the easiest game in the world when Phil was batting, and the hardest game in the world when he got out.

I thought Scott Steel did likewise last season so I thought he was dropped down the order prematurely. Wondered also why Harte's pace off the ball wasn't given a go.
