in fairness, I'd have batted today. Glorious day for batting

A look around the grounds suggests otherwise. Only Gloucs have lost less than 3 wickets for not many runs

Yes. The weather had to suggest batting first. And I suppose you can't make decisions worrying about a suspect top order.
It has the makings of a hard season so perhaps it's just as well it won't be a long one.
I do have some sympathy with the batsmen, bowlers obviously under more physical strain giveh the lack of preparation but it must be very tough batting with virtually no pre-season practice. That said, the lineup is weak.

Ah Jeez..... another fuckingrun out :gun

Burnham still can't score any runs and he's away too 111/5 and we're falling to pieces apart from Lees

Run outs really ssip me off. Completely unacceptable. Just as we were starting to rebuild... and it may spark another collapse. I think the same thing happened against Yorks last week :horse

Interesting watching Lees. Hurt is coming round the wicket to him and Lees has taken a 4th or 5th stump guard, so that he's standing in front of off with his leg stump exposed. Seems to work for him.

maybe he watched Abbas bowl Stokes on day 2 of the test

Oh crikey.... I nearly jinxed him then. Wood comes on to bowl and he's just nicked a dolly to slip..... who put him down! Dead easy chance

come on lad.... concentrate

ball is 50 overs old and Lancs are getting a lot of away swing from it

Eckersley goes for the tight single. Lanky fielders all with their hands on their heads, so it might have been close. Might have been a bit of bluff of course

hard work for Capt Ned atm. Lanky fielders are being very vocal to him. Looks as though they are trying to break his concentration and ramp up the pressure. Not all these groans of despair or appeals for lbw have any merit in them. They are just working on him to see if they can get him to make a poor shot selection, I reckon

one over to tea and we have another dozy run out

for crying out loud.

the skip clips the ball firmly through square leg. sets off, the ball doesn't beat the fielder and Lees sets off so that his skipper doesn't get run out and Vilas makes the direct hit (I think)

the only bloke who knows how score a run and we run him out

It's utterly stupid

and it makes me very angry

wasn't even a direct hit, just straight to the keeper gloves

brainless

Ridiculous. Lees often seems involved in run outs even when they're not necessarily his fault.
If they could bat at a decent pace-and not collapsing at the start would help- maybe they'd be less inclined to take these risks running between the wickets.

37 extras helps! 22 no balls.

the only thing that can be said about being dismissed for 180 on a glorious day for batting is that it isn't 103

Lancs 33-0 in reply. I think they'll pass our total with only 4 wickets down

Can't understand the reluctance to allow Raine to share the new ball.

well he started this morning and picked up the wicket of Davies straight away.

Rushy has just found the edge of Jennings which Lees clung on to after a bit of a juggle

A better start than last night

2 wickets for 10 runs this morning

Salisbury on now.... lets see if he's got rid of the habit of bowling one four ball every over

Vilas is in. He's Lancashire's version of Yorkshire's Malan. He's the one who will separate the two teams, so we need to get him early and we mustn't give him any lives
