I think it's down to Durham's physio, Nigel Kent. I imagine Davies has been keeping well away from him, because once Wor Nige gets his hands on you, you can kiss your career goodbye

The only thing more likely to end any test ambitions a bowler might have faster than ending up on NIge's couch, is being sent to Loughborough to work on bowling actions with Kevin Shine

It was Harmi but to be fair getting Harmi for to play was more a job for a psychiatrist than a physiotherapist. Don't think we've seen anything in writing as yet regarding Nigel's departure.

The first part of a P40/CC back to back combo against Warwickshire could have gone better. Batting first, Durham struggled to get any sort of batting impetus going and only a run a ball 75 from Ben Stokes dragged them to any sort of defendable total, which the team then abjectly failed to defend. Set 198 for victory, Warwickshire romped home in the 29th over without loss, with both Chopra (98) and Porterfield (97) failing to notch up the centuries they thoroughly warranted. The less said the better really.

Warwickshire won the toss and asked Durham to bat in cool and cloudy conditions. After slipping to 92-6, Stokes saw Durham to a first innings total of 258 with a fine counter-attacking 106 which included 19 fours and a six, marshalling the tail to good effect and justifying the decision to move him down to 7 to put some steel into the lower order. Warwickshire were limited to 273 in their reply despite Varun Chopra carrying his bat for a fine 108. Davies and Onions taking regular wickets and preventing any meaningful partnerships developing. Durham immediately slipped to 24-3, and despite Collingwood batting at his obdurate best for 53, wickets continued to fall at the other end. Durham reached 135-7 a lead of only 120 when Collingwood fell, but Stokes and Mustard ground out a vital 60 run partnership to at least give Durham a faint chance, the innings ending on 208 a target of 193. Warwickshire started well, reaching 111-2, before Davies struck with 2 wickets in 2 balls, to change the tempo of the match. From there Onions stepped up with an inspired spell that saw Warwickshire fall short of a fairly modest target

Still no Benks for the visit of Lancashire, so a surprise call up for Stoneman, as Harmison makes his return to the side.

Durham secured their 3rd consecutive win in the championship and made it a hat trick of wins against the bottom 3 sides in the division, with a comfortable victory over struggling Lancashire. Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat first in fine conditions, but were soon in trouble losing 6 wickets for 84 runs in the morning session as Davies continued his run of fine form. A strong middle order rally helped Lancashire to a total of 252, with Davies helping himself to yet another 5fer. Durham made steady progress in their reply adding 146 for the 4th wicket, as DiVenuto carried his bat for a magnificent and chanceless 239* Durham scored 439 for a first innings lead of 187. Lancashire made a strong start in their second innings, getting themselves to parity for the loss of only 3 wickets, but Davies came to the fore again with his second match 10fer of the campaign and Lancs could only muster 303 for a lead of 116. Durham completed their victory for the loss of 3 wickets, as Stoneman compiled a steady 70* after a slight wobble at the start of the innings.

180 weeks of T20 coming up, starting with the visit of Warwickshire

T20 season kicks off with a double header. A home game against Warwickshire followed by a trip to New Rd.

In the first match Durham won the toss and Collingwood chose to bowl. After a shaky start, Ambrose, Evans and Troughton took Warwickshire to 172-7, but without Troughton's 44 off only 22 balls, Durham's target could have been much less competitve. Durham started brightly but lost their way after Mustard and Stokes perished when well set, with new boy Miller sucking the life out of the innings before falling for 4 off 19 balls. With the rate climbing rapidly, Benkenstein and Blackwell came together, showing the attacking intent that had been missing since the power play and together they took Durham to their target with 2 balls to spare
