My match of choice this week is the bottom of the table tussle between the Leeward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago.

Overnight T&T are 161-7 with the Leeward bowlers striking regularly. The pick of the bunch for me was Jeremiah Louis with 3-32.

That's an interesting match, Prof....

As the sixth round got underway yesterday, in Bridgetown leaders Barbados got off to a strong start, closing the first day's play on 357-7. Kyle Mayers hit an unbeaten century, while there were 40s for Kevin Stoute and Kemar Roach. Test opening batsmen Kraigg Brathwaite failed again, falling for five, while for the Windward Islands there were two wickets each for Ryan John, Josh Thomas and Kavem Hodge to date.

At Florence Hall, Guyanese left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 7-59 to dismiss hosts Jamaica for 216 all out, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 59, while Test opening batsman John Campbell could only manage 20.

Only 70 overs were possible at Basseterre, where pacers Jeremiah Louis and Sheno Berridge took three and two wickets respectively to reduce Trinidad and Tobago to 161-7. Isaiah Rajah has topscored so far with 41.

In a see-saw encounter at Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago took command of the third day's play. Anderson Phillip took 6-59 as leaders Barbados were dismissed for 260 all out. Trailing by 21 runs on first innings, the Trinidadians batted with more assurance in the second, closing on 343-9. Veteran Jason Mohammed has hit an unbeaten century, and he received support from Kyle Hope (67) and Akeal Hosein (55), while Ashley Nurse has taken four wickets to date.

The Leeward Islands were in control of their rain-affected match at Providence. In their first innings, the Leewards closed Day Three on 355-7, with half-centuries from Montcin Hodge (98), Amir Jangoo (90) and Jahmar Hamilton (67). Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul has taken three wickets for Guyana so far.

In a chaotic penultimate day's play at St George's, a total of 21 wickets fell. Marquino Mindley took 4-48 and Jamie Merchant 3-36 to dismiss the Windwards for 217 all out, veteran opener Devon Smith topscoring with 72. Leading by 164 on first innings, Jamaica captain John Campbell decided not to enforce the follow-on, but batting again, the visitors were skittled out for an embarrassing 60 all out by Ryan John (4-26), Preston McSween (3-26) and Kenneth Dember, who took three wickets for nine runs. Chasing 225 for victory on today's final day, the Windwards closed on a precarious 51-3.

Leeward Islands have a lot to thank Montcin Hodge for.

Their batting has been weak this season but he was a massively contributory factor to their draw vs high flyers Guyana.

Yes, Hodge appears to be coming good at a stage in the tournament when his opening partner Kieran Powell seems to be tapering off....

At the Brian Lara stadium, Trinidad and Tobago beat Barbados by 147 runs. Jason Mohammed hit 115 not out as the Trinidadians made 350 all out in their second innings, offspinner Ashley Nurse finishing with 4-72. Chasing a target of 330 to win, Barbados were bowled out for 182 all out by Uthman Muhammad (4-28) and Akeal Hosein (3-44). Kyle Mayers topscored with 40.

The game at Providence ended in a draw. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 4-102 to bowl the Leeward Islands out for 378 all out. Trailing by 117 on first innings, Guyana made 228-8 declared, led by half-centuries from Leon Johnson (63) and wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble (69). Rahkeem Cornwall took 3-97 and Kasey Carty 3-30. Set 112 to win, the Leewards reached 33-1 in the 12 overs available.

In Grenada, the Windward Islands beat Jamaica by two wickets. Chasing 225 for victory, Andre Fletcher hit 71 and Sunil Ambris 56, while Marquino Mindley, Patrick Harty and Jamie Merchant took two wickets each.

This is probably the only cricket not affected by coronavirus...yet. Maybe because cases in Caribbean countries are still in single digits.

Leaders Barbados took control of their match while 18 wickets fell on the second day's play at Providence, when they shot out defending champions Guyana for a paltry 55 all out. Pacers Kemar Roach (5-20) and Jason Holder (4-24) did the damage, while Shimron Hetmyer topscored with 14. Leading by 119 on first innings, Barbados made 210 all out in their second, captain Kraigg Brathwaite leading the way with 84, against Keemo Paul's 4-52.

Trinidad and Tobago were in a strong position to push for victory at the halfway stage of their match at the Brian Lara stadium. Jyd Goolie hit 128 and Imran Khan 84, as the Trinidadians piled up 409 all out, against Preston McSween (5-60) and Kenneth Dember (3-125). Pacer Anderson Phillip took 4-53 and there were two wickets each for spinners Khan and Akeal Hosein, as the Windward Islands were bowled out for 179 all out. Veteran Devon Smith topscored with 67. The Windwards were asked to follow on.

In the bottom-of-the-table clash at the Viv Richards stadium, Jamaica were in command going into today's third day. Jermaine Blackwood hit 196 not out and John Campbell, returning after retiring hurt, 105 not out, to lead the Jamaicans to 413-4 for a first innings lead of 153 so far.

At Providence, Barbados crushed Guyana by 235 runs. Chasing an unlikely target of 330, Guyana did not even get close, caving in for a paltry 94 all out. pacer Kemar Roach took 4-36 and seamer Jonathan Carter 3-13, while tailender Keemo Paul topscored with 36.

At Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago hammered the Windward Islands by an innings and 84 runs. In their second innings, the Windwards were bowled out for 152 all out by pacer Anderson Phillip, who took 6-19. Keron Cottoy topscored with 35.

In Antigua, Jamaica were on the verge of forcing a win on today's final day. Jermaine Blackwood hit 248 and John Campbell 112, supported by a knock of 50 not out from tailender Jamie Merchant, as Jamaica piled up 561-9 declared. Pacer Alzarri Joseph took 3-130. Trailing by 301 on first innings, the Leeward Islands limped to 134-6 at stumps on the third day's play. Offspinner Merchant has taken three wickets to date, while opener Montcin Hodge has hit an unbeaten half-century.
