It has made all the headlines, but It wouldn't warrant a mention here because the Capt and I watched collapses like that in what felt like every Durham innings in last years Dribble

Yep! A familiar capitulation.
There's a story in The Times suggesting Faf du Plessis might be about to retire ( or be retired ) from international cricket amidst rumours he's looking to secure a three year Kolpak deal. Can't see him coming here!

Yep! Apparently he wants to play in the T20 World Cup in October/November but the decision could be taken out of his hands- and any Kolpak deal will have to be signed before June.

The Times story mentions his desire to play the World T20 but suggests the SA board might have other ideas. Could just be speculation bu Simon Wilde .

In other news I see DurhamCCC is one of the specialist subjects on tonight's episode of Mastermind!

I see they've admitted that the concerts at the Riverside are behind the RL50 venue changes.

Wonder though if they would have found a way to play them in Chester-le-Street if the competition hadn't been downgraded by FTECB.

I haven't renewed my membership yet

Given that 3/4 of the home one day games are not being played at home, it makes me question what the point of membership is. Given that CC matches are usually played at times when it is difficult for me to go, then perhaps i should just give them £70 for the Dribble instead of the £210 I was going to give them

And also given that we were a complete embarrassment in the Dribble last year, perhaps I should just not bother

Yeah, the RL50 is effectively an away comp! Although I suppose the revenue generated by the concerts plus the diminished stature of the competition is a conundrum. Although there doesn't appear to be any suggestion that they are going to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season- I think a couple of decent signings would help placate the supporters.

"...concerts which will bring much needed revenue into the club, helping with investment in the team"
Really! where is the evidence of that?

Yes, still no sign of any incoming batsmen. Maybe waiting to see which South Africans are available as Kolpaks after the current series finishes? (He said, desperately grasping at straws....)
