I thought Bostock seemed pretty certain of the proposed schedule at the Zoom forum.

That has to be another indication that our finances are in goid shape. Quite surprised to read that Somerset aren't in as healthy a position as expectedl. That said I can understand sone counties reluctance- full expenditure but little or no revenue although if this 2m rule goes ( and it sounds as if it will be gone by early July to aid the hosp Iitality sector) it should help.

Bostock seemed confident that T20 would be played in front of crowds. In fact, he was confident of crowds flocking to it given the absence of sport for so long. May well be right as there's unlikely to be any football in September.

It seems as if the dissenting counties have fallen back into line so if there is any 4 day cricket it will have the full 18 teams. Glamorgan require the consent of their assembly but that apparently will be a formality.

I am surprised counties are even contemplating in not wanting to play cricket for financial reasons. Go down that route and it gives the ECB leverage to reduce the number of First Class Counties.

Since England have already selected the test squad, I am not sure if there is any point in having a First Class competition this year. Probably better off starting the season with the One Day Cup, as a precursor for the Twenty20 Blast.

They're hoping to play 4 day games in front of crowds, the logic being the more days cricket they can fit in the less likely members are to ask for or claim a refund on their season card. There shouldn't be a problem with social distancing for a normal CC crowd, the only issue would be toilet facilities.

There are, however, concerns about fitness levels that may lead to only white ball cricket being played.

Makes sense. If membership cards are accepted for any County Championship game this year, then technically the members are still getting 28 days of cricket they have paid for.

I wondered the same. I'd have thought so but it's not mentioned in the article. No reason why they can't send them out...but if they were going to do it why not just send them all out? I'll probably have a walk down on Wednesday.

But of a cheek asking people to collect cards, they've always been posted, no reason why the shouldn't be this season. Likewise , historically,Handbooks are collected on matchdays at reception.

Update on the membership card/yearbook collection. The club says the reason they can't post them out now is because of the furlough situation but any not collected this week will be posted once staff return from furlough.
