Yep. I was very impressed yesterday, it's not an important game for the team and he had tricky conditions to deal with but he was fully committed and would talk to the batsmen at the other end, presumably giving advice.

Apparently they're getting underway at Taunton at 12pm...and then have lunch at 1pm!

Top of the table game is limping on. Essex probably still on top. Five for Harmer.

captaincolly wrote:Not relevant to this thread but...just seen the story about Tasmania losing a one day game against Victoria from the position of needing 5 runs from 11 overs with 5 wickets in hand!

seemingly there is a bonus point for winning within 40 overs and with 6 wickets still in the hut, and not many runs needed, they decided to go for it. By the time they realised they probably shouldn't have, the game was in free fall. With 3 runs needed they were 8 down, Bird was given out to a legside catch to the keeper which he thought went off the pad and then 2 balls later Ellis was given out LBW to a ball that was too high and going down leg

Today they've been thrashed after string of single figure scores from 6 down over

I've realised why I have such a soft spot for Tassie..... they are actually Durham down under

Yep! Think that was a big reason David Boon came over - he said Durham reminded him of Tasmania. Their current team are clearly taking inspiration from us!

perhaps the ECB will decide to go back to two divisions of 9, 16 matches each, then schedule the matches so early and so late in the season that they'll only half the fixtures will need to be played....... ease the risk of player burn out!

All the counties will be able to increase the cost of their membership packages to allow for all the extra matches that members won't be able watch

everyone's a winner :halo:
