Contracts mean nothing if the big money poachers come hunting. Test match counties,hundred venues, have now got money to burn. Expect Sorry to have a clear out and spending spree.

Even if the weather is quite poor, it's not as if the match will need all four days. If Somerset prepare the pitch which we all expect them to (not just in order to try and win, but also to rule out any chance of Essex accruing enough extra bonus points that the final result becomes irrelevant), the match might not even need two days worth of playing time to reach a conclusion.
Someone will be ending this season by winning the double.
