good recovery to post 367. Just need Abbott to take a shed load of wickets to add to his run tally

Rikki got the ball moving. The rest of Surrey's bowlers were poor.

Ultimately we got ourselves to the minimum sort of score that we'd have been looking for when we elected to bowl (and certainly after that first wicket stand). We just got there in a slightly odd way.

But unless the turn for Dawson gets more and more, I can't see anything other than a draw.

Abbott was due one, think he averaged 5 for the season before this innings, normally averages around the 20 mark

Not that we have any hope whatsoever of the winning the title (just finishing 3rd looks a difficult enough assignment), but I wonder if this is our first ever season in D1 where with three matches left we mathematically can still win the title and cannot be relegated.

Usually it's the other way around. Just occasionally both have been possible.

Great win, we've certainly done our job tonight. Feels a long time since we've had a home win like that in t20.

But with Kent blowing up at the end there, it doesn't feel like a huge amount much has changed. I'd be feeling a lot more comfortable if it was Gloucs who we were looking at to lose tomorrow rather than Kent. In all likelihood, if Kent and Somerset both win tomorrow then we're out, despite tonight. But then again, Essex have kept themselves alive tonight (albeit they need us to slip - their NRR is too poor to finish above us on NRR), so you would hope that they'll present Kent with a tough test tomorrow.

Two realistic chances of us qualifying (we win and Kent lose; or we win and Middlesex win, but with us keeping hold of our very slender NRR advantage), and one unrealistic chance (we win and Somerset win, and somehow we jump above Somerset's NRR - never going to happen).

Just seen that of the 157 bowlers to have taken a wicket (so far) in the t20 Blast, Fuller did so with the worst economy. A massive 13.33.

Snater of Essex is the only other bowler with an economy over 12, at 12.08.

Good thing that Fuller would make up for that by coming in at 6 and smashing quick fire 50s. On, wait...

Oh dear! Not the best campaign for him then?

Absolute disaster. He played every match and his only positive contribution was one over of batting vs Somerset, which completely changed our run chase (from defeat to victory).

Very much of those bits-and-pieces players whose effectiveness is reduced in line with the length of format. It's easy enough to hang around and chip in with 30 runs in four days cricket, and then bowl five filler overs until the new ball comes around. But at the other end of the scale, in t20 you need to be able to properly bat or properly bowl. Part-time bowlers will get destroyed. Part-time batters will get out.

Yep. Needs specialists, one bad over with bat or ball and the game could be gone- Lancashire the other night getting Livingstone to bowl the penultimate over comes to mind.

Ridiculous hitting from Vince. This would be impressive for a t20 game. He's got very luck with two edges for 4, but the rest have been deliberate.

Good to see you lifting the mercenaries for not many.

Scores runs against us for fun.

Him, Mullaney, Ballance, Vilas and Burns probably all average over 100 against us in recent years. For a while Woakes did too.

Great win

Our second innings just leaps off the card, when you look at the other three innings.

one of the really nice things in cricket is watching a young kid come through the ranks and then have a break through season.

Organ adds a 5 fer to his maiden ton

Breath of fresh air. Even more so after putting up with Soames and, even longer, Weatherley - both of whom were clearly out of their depth.

Still exceptionally early days, but right now I don't have any fears about going into next season with him.

He'll presumably break into the white ball team next season, when the likes of Vince and Dawson are playing in the 100.
