Breath of fresh air. Even more so after putting up with Soames and, even longer, Weatherley - both of whom were clearly out of their depth.

Still exceptionally early days, but right now I don't have any fears about going into next season with him.

He'll presumably break into the white ball team next season, when the likes of Vince and Dawson are playing in the 100.

Hopefully it means we can release Mason Crane for being useless

He's still a very good white ball bowler, is Mason.

Albeit he's another who is pretty certain to get selected for the 100 so, like Rilee, we might only see him playing t20 for Hampshire going forward.

All the talk about the Somerset-Essex shout-out for 1st next week. But if Kent beat Yorks today/tomorrow - which it looks like they will - then we have a Kent-Hants shoot-out for 3rd place. That's where the drama is really at.

Win, lose or draw next week, it's been our best red ball season for a decade. Who knows how different it could have been - both in the Championship, and the one-day final - if Vince and Dawson hadn't been carrying the drinks for England for weeks on end.
