Excellent news. As DFM has said before you do wonder how the season would have panned out had he not been called into The Ashes squad.

He won't be available in all 3 formats as overseas players aren't permitted in the 1 day game this year- why doesn't it surprise me that our DoC isn't aware of new playing regulations? Doesn't matter to us then if Bangers puts in for the Hundred draft.
Massive,nevertheless, that he's available for us whenever eligible, particularly having had previous experience at the Riverside.

The gap in Australia's schedule also means that some of their Test specialists will hope to secure county deals. Several counties are understood to have enquired about Nathan Lyon's availability, while several of those who had deals this year will plan to extend them into 2020.

Excerpt from Dobell article on agreement between PCA and ECB on players' salaries in light of lucrative Sky tv deal.

"The key features of the new deal will see the salary cap (the maximum amount a county can spend on the salaries of its players) rise to £2.5million a year by 2024 - it is about £2million at present - while the salary collar (the minimum amount a county can spend on player salaries) is expected to jump from £750,000 a year to £1.25million in 2020 and £1.5million by 2024.

There will also be a minimum wage for full-time professionals aged over 21 of £27,500 per year, with anyone who has played five Championship or 10 T20s considered a full-time professional"

I estimate Durham will have to about double current player's salaries expenditure to meet this criteria.

That sounds promising, sounds as if he might have some info - making it all the more important to reschedule the member forum.
They're certainly going to have to make signings if they don't want to fall foul of that collar.

Dexter has been released by Leics, although his stats are underwhelming.

Would Karl Carver interest us? Yorks have released him, perhaps because Rashid might go back to red ball, now that his test contract has been terminated, perhaps because the new boy Shutt made such an impact, but also perhaps they are becoming increasingly reliant on overseas spinners and want to re-sign Maharaj for 2020.

23 years old, only played 8 matches for all of the above reasons, but has taken 18 wickets at 30, which is a lot better than anyone (not OS) we've ever had since Blackwell

I would hope we'd be shopping at a higher level than that and I'm fairly confident we will be. Listened to a Surrey podcast involving Badger who appeared very comfortable, involved and committed. I think we can dismiss any hope of his return.

Wouldn't mind giving a go to Hameed, or Carver at a push as outside bets if we have the money to bolster the squad. But I hope we're aiming a little bit higher too. Two or three proper players added to our current squad, and we'd have a great chance of going up - and staying up. Dexter for me would be a non starter. Sorry about Borthwick - I always hoped he'd come back.
