Tamil Union used today as batting practice - none more so thanDhananjaya de Silva who got 167 in 140 balls. The draw was always going to be on.

Negombo end the tournament second with Tamil Union in 5th.

Now, the top 8 teams from each group go into a super 8.

These teams are: Burher, Colombo, Chilaw, Colts, Nondescripts, Ragama, Sri Lanka Army and Saracens

The pick of the action was seen in the games between Colombo and Chillaw and between Nondescripts and Colts.

There were wickets a-plenty in the first game as Colombo were all out for 287 before Chillaw went to stumps two down for a score of 83. Nimesh Vimukthi was the pick of the Chillaw bowlers with 5-59. This is now 16 wickets in 3 and a half games since the resumption of cricket.

It was more a run-hungry affair for Nondescripts who chose to bat first and put on 458 - their final wicket marking the end of the day. Captain Angelo Perera was the top run scorer with 107.

Both Chillaw and Nondescripts hold the cards in their two matches going in to the final day.

A century for Shehan Jayasuriya saw Chillaw declare their first innings on 458 - a lead of 171. At stumps, Colombo were 68-2. Chillaw will clearly have the first innings total to see them progress.

Nondescripts massive total on Day One might be the only time they will be asked to bat as they have enforced the follow on as Colts only got 222 in their first dig and are 6 down for only 119 in their second attempt. The star bowler for Nondescripts was Chaturanga de Silva who got a five-fer in the first innings and followed it up with another wicket in the second.

Colombo v Chillaw was destined to be a draw....but a bore it wasn't. Ex-Sri Lankan international Ashan Priyanjan scored a blistering 170 in 172 balls to get Colombo to 494-8 declared. Chillaw had the first innings lead however, so will progress.

Chaturanga de Silva carried his good form of yesterday into Day Three as he added the last three Colts wickets to his 6 wickets from yesterday (5 from first innings and one in the second. Colts scored only a further 38 runs on the final day handing Nondescripts a win by an innings and 79 runs.

Ragama and the Sri Lankan Army are the other two teams to progress.
