Just annoying all round....I'm killing time here at the ground, before heading off to the train in Durham. It is sunny, and if it hadn't been the last day...... I recon they would have got some play on later. The odd person keeps turning up. At least there was nothing riding on this match for us. I'm glad Northants and Glos have gone up [come on the non test ground sides!!]

Do let me know if you are going to any future forum as I did have some questions for the club. Although one is for the marketing team so I may just email them.

General chatting with supporters wasting time over the past few days has just left me feeling that some of the good things that the club has had going for it may be on the way out. Just hope it is all end of season historical gossip / wrong end of the stick stuff / people not liking certain personalities . Not sure if I will be looking forward to some of the announcements over the winter. But maybe it's just that end of season feeling. That and all the 100 stuff, championship at the ends of the season etc stuff.

Come on 668 then, share the gossip-you can't sign off for the season leaving things up the air like that. :bye

The kind of gossip where there is no actual anything just a negative vibe, you know what it's like end of season and often it is not how it pans out.

A slightly disappointing end to the season, but a much better season than it promised to be after 4 matches

Probably about where I hoped we would be when I looked at the 2019 season this time last year after the signings of Raine and Lees.

A better 50 over comp than I was expecting, but a worse T20 campaign

overall 6 out of 10, I reckon

the signing of Bangers for next season has made me feel a little better about 2020, but we do need to sign players, so I hope we have some rabbits lined up that can be pulled out of a hat.

I am prepared to be impressed.... don't let me down Messrs Franklin and North

I agree. Terrible start and an underwhelming ending but lots of good things in between. Almost all of the problems to do with the batting and it must be strengthened. Apart from Lees, Bancroft and Eckersley the batting is dodgy to say the least.

cheers for all the input, chaps and chapesses

A better season for us, overall, I think

Who knows... improving year on year might become a 'thing'

lets hope so

Durham match thread will be back in time for the start of the 2020 season.......

.....so January, probably :no

So let Badger provide the season's epitaph.

"
shall end the season like Scott Borthwick. The Surrey batsman entered the attack for the 21st over of Nottinghamshire’s innings this week, bowled a no ball that also went for two runs, and with that the match came to an end. Borthwick’s figures read 0-0-4-0".

No, see DBTR thread and I'd love to be wrong.

Durhamfootman wrote:well thank goodness this morning's weather forecast was for a gloomy start and a dry day brightening up in the afternoon. It hasn't stopped ssiping down this morning and it's getting worse not better

Another reason to be thankful we didn't beat Northants last week, because we'd probably be thinking we had to win this match and instead the rain (and the ludicrous scheduling from the guardian's of the game) would be frustrating us

In that situation we'd probably have to go to the supreme court claiming that the weather was unlawfully trying to stymie Durham's attempt at promotion, which we'd probably win and the rain told to let us back on to the field of play.

it occurs to me that had we beaten Northants last week, we would have been promoted in 3rd place, 1 point ahead of Northants, the way everything worked out in that last round

instead of us being frustrated by the weather in the last match, it would have been Northants cursing their misfortune

small margins.... although we were well beaten by them at Wantage Rd, in truth.... but on another day, with an in form Bangers.... who knows?
