This time next year, though, I bet we'll still have another round of matches to look forward to next week :no

Probably!

Forum rescheduled for close of play on Thursday. Not sure the forecast is great!

No play before an early lunch ( 12pm ) and I very much doubt there'll be any play after it.

well thank goodness this morning's weather forecast was for a gloomy start and a dry day brightening up in the afternoon. It hasn't stopped ssiping down this morning and it's getting worse not better

Another reason to be thankful we didn't beat Northants last week, because we'd probably be thinking we had to win this match and instead the rain (and the ludicrous scheduling from the guardian's of the game) would be frustrating us

In that situation we'd probably have to go to the supreme court claiming that the weather was unlawfully trying to stymie Durham's attempt at promotion, which we'd probably win and the rain told to let us back on to the field of play.

:lmao
I think Rushy needs either 5 or 6 wickets to get to 500 so it looks as if he'll have to wait until next year.

you never know. it's still raining, but the sky is definitely getting lighter, so if it does actually stop raining on the this 'dry' day, then perhaps we might get something around tea time... ish

we could probably even declare if we want and see what happens without too much risk, even if it hadn't been a dead game for us. Glammy notionally still need 3 points to keep their promotion hopes alive, I think, so if we declare and deny them the 3rd bowling point, they'll need to core rapid runs to have any chance of making 300 and that will give us the chance to take wickets. I don't believe that they won't 'not bother' just because the weather makes a draw for Northants/Gloucs look increasingly likely.

Then again.... I've been wrong before

many, many times

Hopefully you'll be right. As you say it is definitely brightening up. Taking an early lunch might also suggest they're hoping for play later on in the day.

of course Glammy still have to win, so that might put them off if they think there's no chance of that

It'd probably require them to bat exceptionally well and then bowl us out again in double quick time...but our formidable lineup surely rules that out.
Covers coming off but no inspection before the early ( 12pm) lunch.

Yes I think so. Forum scheduled for the close of play.
Although I have a feeling the 1.30 inspection might result in abandonment. It's bright but still raining - not heavily but the ground must be very wet.
